Like most people living in the Twin Cities area, my wife and I are always looking for fun things to do in Minneapolis for date nights. Over the years we’ve been to several comedy shows in Minneapolis and we’ve been presently surprised at the quality of some of the comedy shows available in the Metro area including, comedy shows hosted by local churches.
Several years ago we attended a comedy show at Destiny Christian Center in Burnsville, Minnesota that featured a comedian from Branson, Missouri named Joey ILO. We took several couples from our church and had a great night of laughter! The event was packed and they even offered dessert during the intermission.
This got us thinking. What if we hosted some family, friendly comedians at our church and made the comedy show tickets affordable? Again, there are lots of great comedy shows in Minneapolis, however, it’s not always easy to find what some would call, clean or family friendly comedy. We also know that some of the bigger comedy shows in Minneapolis can be quite expensive and we wanted to offer couples looking for things to do in Minneapolis a night out on the town that didn’t break the bank.
Shortly I after I contacted Joey’s agent and began to talk about some dates that would work for him to come and host another comedy show in Minneapolis, this time at Spirit of Life Church in New Prague, Minnesota.
We’re excited to announce that on Saturday, February 6th, 2016 our church will be hosting Joey ILO comedy show in New Prague. The event will start at 6:30 pm and the price is only $5.00 per person. Because our venue is smaller space will be limited.
What we’re asking is that you don’t come alone! We want the success of this event to come from people inviting their friends. Word of mouth is so powerful and this is no different when it comes to comedy shows in Minneapolis.
Here’s what you can do. Purchase several tickets for your family to attend and then, buy some extras to give to extended family, friends, even your neighbors. This will ensure that we’re able to offer a quality event. We’re hoping that this event is so successful we’ll be able to host other comedy shows in the future.
We believe laughter can be a great encouragement to people who are facing difficult and uncertain circumstances in their lives. In fact the Bible even tells us in Proverbs that A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
